The Loudonville Public Library has announced its lineup of July programs.
The 2025 Summer Reading Program, “Color Our World,” runs through July 19. The program is open to all ages and includes reading challenges, events and prizes.
In conjunction with the Ohio Department of Education and the Greater Cleveland Food Bank, the library is offering a free Summer Food Service Program Monday through Friday from noon to 1 p.m. through Aug. 8. Children age 0-18 can receive grab-and-go lunches while supplies last. This institution is an equal opportunity provider.
Bingo for Books will be held Tuesday, July 1 at 6 p.m., where participants can win books and prizes through interactive bingo games.
Storytime for children age 2-5 will take place Tuesdays, July 1, 8 and 15 at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. The program includes stories, songs, fingerplays and crafts. Sign-up is required, and each session is limited to 12 children. Caregivers must be present, and younger siblings are welcome.
The Ohio Bird Sanctuary will present a live bird of prey program Wednesday, July 2 at 6 p.m., featuring two or three birds.
The Masterpiece Makers art series for fourth grade through 12th grade will be held Thursdays, July 3, 10 and 17 at 1:30 p.m. Participants will explore the works of famous artists and create their own versions. Sign-up is required with a limit of 12 students.
Also on July 3, the Take Home Cooking Challenge will be available, featuring ingredients to make an apple pie dump cake at home. There are 24 kits available for students in fourth grade through 12th grade. Call the library to reserve a kit.
The library will be closed Friday, July 4.
The Friends of the Library will host a book sale Saturday, July 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the lower level of the library. Proceeds will support library programming and materials.
On Monday, July 7 at 6 p.m., the fire department will stop by for the Fire Truck Spray, where children can play in water from the fire hose and wrap up with ice cream sandwiches. Participants should bring towels and a change of clothes.
Paint a Polaroid, a watercolor painting class focused on the Northern Lights, will be held Tuesday, July 8 at 6 p.m. Sign-up is required, and space is limited.
A Family Nerf Night is planned for Friday, July 11 from 5:30-7 p.m. Families must bring their own Nerf guns and darts. The event is open to age 5 and up and is limited to 15 families. Sign-up and permission slips are required.
Family Movie Night will be held Monday, July 14 at 6 p.m., featuring “Harold and the Purple Crayon.” Children are encouraged to wear pajamas and bring pillows or sleeping bags. Popcorn, candy and a special gift for each child will be provided.
Macrame & Mocktails will take place Tuesday, July 15 at 6 p.m., where participants can create a macrame suncatcher and have a nonalcoholic drink. Sign-up is required, and space is limited.
The Adult Book Discussion Group will meet Friday, July 18 at 11 a.m. in the Golden Center to discuss “A Bend in the Road” by Nicholas Sparks. That evening the Summer Reading Wrap-Up Party will be held at 6 p.m. at Riverside Park. The community celebration will include live music, games, hot dogs, snow cones, cake and more.
