Loudonville Public Library releases full December events calendar
Holiday crafts, family programs, teen activities and the library’s biggest seasonal party highlight a busy month.

The Loudonville Public Library announced a full lineup of December programs and activities for patrons of all ages.
Beginning Dec. 1, readers can take home the latest Book Club To Go selection, “The Holiday Cottage” by Sarah Morgan. The monthly kit includes the book, discussion questions and an activity while supplies last.
Teens in sixth grade through 12th grade also can start the month with the Teen Take Home Cooking Challenge, featuring a recipe called Snowman Poop, available at the youth desk on a first come, first served basis.
The library’s Make It Merry craft series will return Dec. 1, 8 and 15, offering weekly take-home holiday craft kits while supplies last.
Storytime for children age 2-5 will be held Dec. 2, 9 and 16 at 10 a.m. with stories, songs, finger plays and crafts. Caregivers must be present, and younger siblings are welcome to attend.

The Community Chess Club will meet Dec. 4 at 3:30 p.m.

Teens can participate in a Bedazzled Art session, where they will create gem-covered artworks Dec. 8 at 4 p.m. The program is limited to 12 participants in sixth grade through 12th grade and requires registration.
Homeschool families are invited to a Gumdrop STEM Challenge Dec. 11 at 2:30 p.m. Supplies are limited.
The library’s biggest holiday party of the year will take place Dec. 13 from 10 a.m. to noon, offering breakfast, crafts, games and prizes for all ages.
A gift-wrapping station, Wrap It Up!, will be open Dec. 15-20 with free paper, ribbons and tags while supplies last.
Also beginning Dec. 15 are Teen Take & Make wood ornament kits, available for sixth grade through 12th grade at the youth desk on a first come, first served basis, and the monthly Spice Club kit, introducing a new spice, recipes and background information while supplies last.
Kids Club will meet Dec. 17 at 3:30 p.m. with hands-on activities, games and surprises for children in kindergarten through third grade.
Students in first grade through eighth grade can participate in Candy Cottage Creations, where they will build edible candy houses, Dec. 18 at 3:30 p.m. Sign-up is required, with a limit of 12 spots.
