Looking for top chili chefs to compete in FOTH event
The Friends of the Homeless of Tuscarawas County will hold a free chili cook-off on Jan. 18 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Schoolhouse in Zoar, 221 Foltz St., Zoar, and will share information with the community about the Jack’s House of Hope campaign to build a new shelter and some of the individuals in the county who are currently without a permanent home.
This is a free event for the entire family. Bring your kids and friendly dogs and get a chili supper including salad, bread or crackers and other goodies donated by volunteers and local churches and made and served by people volunteering, working or living in the existing shelter.
All are welcome to cast their vote for their favorite chili or chef.
—First prize, top cook-off chef: $200 and an engraved spoon selected by guest professional chefs only.
—Second prize, People’s Choice chef: $100 and an engraved spoon selected by cook-off attendees.
—Third prize, cook-off runner-up chef: $50 and an engraved spoon selected by cook-off attendees.
