Holmes County 4-H Shooting Sports Club completes community service project
Club members assembled thank-you goodie bags for local veterans and wrote notes to county service organizations during a recent meeting.
The Holmes County 4-H Shooting Sports Club met recently at the Eastern Holmes Sportsman Club.
During the meeting club members assembled goodie bags to be delivered to the Veterans Assistance Office for distribution to Holmes County veterans. Each bag included a thank-you note. The project is one of two community service efforts the club completes each year.
Members also wrote thank-you notes to Holmes County service organizations to be included with the club’s annual holiday distribution of cookies and candies.
Club members and their families had a picnic-style lunch prepared by families of the club.
The next club meeting is planned for Saturday, March 14, weather permitting, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Eastern Holmes Sportsman Club. Anyone interested in the 4-H Shooting Sports program is welcome to attend.
The Holmes County 4-H Shooting Sports Club offers archery, crossbow, pistol, shotgun, rifle, muzzleloader, shotgun shell reloading, living history, hunting and wildlife, Western heritage, trapping, fishing, natural resource projects, and self-determined projects.
