Hiland boys soccer captures Division V district title with 6-0 win over Tusky Valley
Hawks dominate behind Christian Mullet’s hat trick as girls advance in regional play and other fall teams wrap up postseason action

The Hiland boys soccer team won a Division V district championship by rolling to a 6-0 win over Tusky Valley in a district final on Oct. 23.
Christian Mullet led the Hawks with three goals. Roman Tkachuk had a goal and two assists, Luke Bodiker had a goal and an assist, Conner Hershberger had a goal, and Blake Stutzman and Max Jones had an assist. Goalkeeper Chase Coblentz recorded two saves.
“We lacked a little focus the first half, which was disappointing for a district final game,” Hiland coach Scott Bodiker said. “After halftime we got refocused and played a bit better and finished our chances.”
Girls soccer
Hiland picked up a 4-1 win over Norwayne in a Div. V regional semifinal on Oct. 28.
Italee Mullet paced the Lady Hawks with three goals. Ally Mullet had a goal and two assists while Minka Mullet and Chanelle Kellogg had an assist. Goalkeeper Kaitlyn Klink finished with seven saves.
“Really proud of the girls,” Hiland coach Conner Lee said. “Defense played great, and offense did a fantastic job finishing the chances they created.”
Hiland captured a Div. V district championship by beating Steubenville Catholic Central 3-0 in a district final on Oct 22.
Ally Mullet and Italee Mullet both scored once and assisted on another goal to lead the Lady Hawks. Kellogg scored once while Claire Mullet had an assist. Klink recorded five saves.
“Defense played great and a stellar performance from Kait to keep the shutout,” Lee said. “Offense finished enough chances to move on.”
Boys cross country
Hiland’s Landon Troyer finished 69th in 18:22.68 at the Div. IV Pickerington Regional on Oct. 25.
Volleyball
Hiland’s season came to an end with a 25-17, 25-22, 25-9 loss to Shenandoah in a Div. VI district final on Oct. 22.
