Health commissioner to speak at LWV event in Wooster
Published Modified

The community is invited to join The League of Women Voters of Wayne County as it hosts Health Commissioner Nicholas Cascarelli for part one of How Local Government Works for Us.

Cascarelli will discuss the scope of the health department’s work for the citizens of Wayne County. This event is free and will be Tuesday, July 29 at 6:30 p.m. in the East/West Conference Room of the Wayne County Public Library, 220 W. Liberty St., Wooster.

Residents of Wayne County are affected by the health department in some manner, directly or indirectly. For those seeking assistance with well water safety and testing, septic discharge concerns, food safety at restaurants or food trucks, obtaining birth and death certificates, overseas travel immunizations, information and support on childhood and adult diseases, overdose or suicide statistics, or prenatal health care access for expectant mothers, the health department serves as a resource.

Cascarelli will address the scope of the department’s responsibility, its impact on the community and how it works with partner organizations to expand its outreach to the community. The community will have an opportunity to ask questions following the presentation.

The LWV of Wayne County is a local chapter of the national LWV organization. Learn more about the LWV and upcoming events at www.lwvwaynecounty.org/ or follow the group on Facebook at www.facebook.com/lwvwaynecounty.
