Garaway’s playoff run ends in regional final; Pirate bowlers and basketball teams notch strong performances

Jaxon Garber and the Garaway Pirates (11-3) saw their season come to an end with a 21-7 loss to a familiar playoff foe in undefeated Kirtland. Despite the loss, it was another successful campaign for Jason Wallick's crew.

The Garaway football team’s season came to an end with a 21-7 loss to undefeated Kirtland in a Division VI regional final Nov. 21 at Louisville High School.

Grady Miller tossed a 21-yard touchdown pass to Micah Yoder for the Pirates’ lone score.

Girls bowling

East Canton picked up a 1,765-1,559 win over Garaway in Inter-Valley Conference action Nov. 24.

Erin Meek led the Pirates with a 311 series (157-154), followed by Harmony Clymer with a 305.

Boys bowling

East Canton beat Garaway 2,577-2,278 in an IVC clash Nov. 24.

Corbin Clymer rolled games of 214 and 196 for a team-high 410 series. Ethan Specht added a 380 series (221-159). Graem Wallick rolled a game-high 225.

Eighth grade boys basketball

Garaway beat Tuscarawas Central Catholic 44-38 on Nov. 24.

Tyler Rowe (17 points) and Andrew Coletti (14) led the Pirates.

Eighth grade girls basketball

Garaway defeated Tuscarawas Central Catholic 28-27 on Nov. 24.

Aubrey Grove paced the Pirates with 12 points.

Seventh grade girls basketball

Garaway beat Tuscarawas Central Catholic 29-3 in a two-quarter game Nov. 24.

Charlotte Regula (10 points) and Bella Hostetler (seven) led the Lady Pirates.
