Garaway volleyball sweeps Indian Valley; girls golf finishes runner-up at district

The Garaway volleyball team picked up a 25-23, 25-18, 25-22 win over Indian Valley in an Inter-Valley Conference clash on Oct. 7.

Audrey Miller (14 kills, five digs, three aces), Charlee Yoder (24 assists, 10 digs, two aces), Quinn Schwartz (five kills, two blocks), True Tango (nine digs, six kills), Kate Miller (four aces, three digs), Sydney Miller (six digs) and Gina Beachy (five digs) led the Lady Pirates.

Hiland defeated Garaway 23-25, 25-12, 25-15, 25-16 in an IVC battle on Oct. 2.

Yoder (36 assists, 10 digs), Audrey Miller (22 kills, 15 digs), Schwartz (eight kills, two blocks), Tango (23 digs, five kills), Kenya Njoroge (19 digs) and Sydney Miller (12 digs) paced the Lady Pirates.

Girls golf

Garaway shot a 365 to finish second at the Division II Cambridge District on Oct. 1.

Kylie Miller led the Lady Pirates with a 79. Sara Weaver added an 84, Reegan Gerber a 92 and Audrey Immel a 110.

Boys golf

Garaway shot a 332 to finish fourth at the Div. II River Greens District on Oct. 2.

Austin Tedrick led the Pirates with an 80. Henry Swartzentruber added an 81, Isaac Bowland an 84 and Lofton Numbers an 87.
