Garaway girls golf captures sectional title, advances to district tournament
Lady Pirates also claim IVC co-championship and Tri-County title behind strong play from Sara Weaver and Kylie Miller.

The Garaway girls golf team shot a 345 to win the Division II Carroll Meadows Sectional on Sept. 23, advancing to districts as a team.
Sara Weaver (78) and Kylie Miller (80) led the Lady Pirates.
Garaway shot a 342 to win the 18-team Tri-County Postseason Tournament on Sept. 17.
Miller was the medalist among 101 girls with an 80. Weaver added an 81, and Reegan Gerber, who had a hole-in-one on No. 13, chipped in an 83.
Garaway shot a 340 to tie for first with Ridgewood at the Inter-Valley Conference Postseason Tournament on Sept. 16.
With the tie, the Lady Pirates also tied Ridgewood for the overall conference title.
Miller (72) and Weaver (78) led Garaway.
Volleyball
Garaway defeated Sandy Valley 25-16, 25-22, 25-16 in IVC play on Sept. 23.
Charlee Yoder (40 assists, eight digs, four aces), Audrey Miller (11 kills, seven digs, four aces), Quinn Schwartz (seven kills, three blocks), True Tango (eight digs, six kills) and Kyleigh LaCroix (four kills, three blocks) led the Lady Pirates.
Yoder recorded her 2,000th-career assist during the match.
Shenandoah pulled out a 19-25, 20-25, 25-23, 25-17, 15-12 nonleague win over Garaway on Sept. 20.
Yoder (48 assists, 17 digs), Miller (23 kills, 25 digs, two aces), Tango (40 digs, 13 kills), Schwartz (11 kills, two aces, two blocks) and Gina Beachy (13 digs) paced the Lady Pirates.
