Falls Prevention Program holding trail walks
The Falls Prevention Program of Holmes & Wayne, under the direction of the Holmes County General Health District and the Standing Against Falls Coalition, is adding two spring trail walks to its trail walk program to promote the importance of daily physical activity and exercise to aid in the prevention of falls. The trail walks will be held at trail sites throughout Holmes County in April and May at various times. Bring the family. No registration is needed.
The trail walks will take place Friday, April 25 at Walnut Hills Retirement Community (nursing home), 4748 Olde Pump St., Walnut Creek, from 1-2 p.m., and Friday, May 16 at Deer Run Park, 2805 Glen Dr., Millersburg, from 9-10 a.m.
A trail walk will be canceled if extreme temperatures occur or a thunderstorm occurs. If there is a light sprinkle, the walk will be held. Any cancellation notices will be placed on the Holmes County General Health District’s Facebook page and announced on WKLM 95.3.
Don’t forget to wear appropriate footwear. If you have any questions, contact Kerry MacQueen at the Health District at 330-674-5035, ext. 251.
