Representatives from state and local agencies will address domestic violence, community safety and barriers to reporting during an Oct. 20 forum at Norman Troyer Gym.
An event on the realities of abuse in Ohio communities, presented by statewide key stakeholders including the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations, Homeland Security Investigations, and officials from Holmes and Wayne counties, will take place Monday, Oct. 20 from 6-8:30 p.m. at the Norman Troyer Gym, 1522 Township Road 414, Dundee.
This gathering will provide insight into Ohio laws and the reality of domestic violence, crimes and abuse in churches and communities.
Speakers will discuss the dynamics of abuse against children and adults and the impact this has on individuals, their families and the community at-large. The discussion will highlight the ongoing challenges in identification, reporting and accessing services while providing attendees with information on how to overcome these barriers to ensure a safer church and community.
