Weekly Blessing

And you're not lost because ...

Angela Chapman’s faith reflection urges readers to seek forgiveness, embrace Jesus and 'walk in the light' rather than in spiritual darkness.

On a hill called Mount Calvary,

Is where my Jesus died for me.

He took my sins and covered them well,

With his atoning blood that fell.

All my sins I could not count.

But Jesus blotted them all out.

I became washed white as snow,

From a savior, a man of sorrows.

This act was a miracle as I had no way out.

Because with sin on my soul, I could not enter Heaven's route.

Forgiveness of sin and eternal life would be given to me.

If to Jesus I'd repent and in him believe, he would redeem.

Now Jesus is perfect, and he is the Father's only begotten Son.

Only he can say, "You're forgiven," since Jesus is the only righteous, worthy one.

Through Jesus only is the way to God that you can go.

There's no other way but through Christ's blood; this you must know.

Only Jesus died for your sins and arose from the dead three days later.

This miraculous atoning Jesus did was the ultimate soul-saver.

Jesus did his finished work on the cross and suffered greatly for this world,

All so we could live with him forever, in his kingdom, where a gate is one pearl.

You may be wondering how your soul, too, can be saved.

It's a simple plan of salvation that our Father God gave.

First, you must admit to Jesus, God's Son, that you're a sinner in need,

In need of a savior that is, and confess on your willing, bended knee.

Repent to Jesus for trying to do life your own way.

Ask him for forgiveness in your own words that you say.

You must believe in Jesus as the Christ and the risen Son.

Believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead and victory was won.

If you've sincerely repented and had this talk with Jesus today,

I'd like to say, "Welcome, my friend. You're now a child of the day."

You're not walking in darkness anymore,

And you're not lost because you opened Jesus' door.
