Blue Ribbon General 4-H plans fair preparations, food drive

Members organized a list of project books and discussed fundraising

“Healthy Food for a Healthy Community” food drive will run through March 15,

The Blue Ribbon General 4-H Club met Feb. 15 to prepare for the upcoming fair and a community service project.

President Gauge Trimmer called the meeting to order, and 13 members recited the Pledge of Allegiance. Members organized a list of project books and discussed fundraising. Vice President Daisy Cyrus reviewed upcoming event dates and deadlines.

Health and safety officer Shawn Downs and community officer Cora Pulley proposed a “Healthy Food for a Healthy Community” food drive. Members voted unanimously to approve the project. The food drive will run through March 15, with donation boxes located at the Clark Memorial Library, 102 E. Main St., Freeport, and the House of Mercy, 28840 Norris Road, Tippecanoe.

The next meeting will be held March 15 at 7 p.m. at West Chester Methodist Church. New members are welcome.
