Ridgewood awarded Ohio School Bus Safety Grant
District receives $49,200 to enhance student transportation safety
Ridgewood Local Schools was awarded an Ohio School Bus Safety Grant in the amount of $49,200 to enhance student transportation safety across the district.
The grant, awarded by the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce, is designed to improve school bus safety through the purchase and installation of advanced safety equipment. These improvements may include upgrades to existing buses or safety features incorporated into newly acquired buses, further strengthening protections for Ridgewood students during daily transportation.
“We are grateful for this investment in student safety and for the state’s continued commitment to school transportation,” Superintendent Mike Masloski said. “This funding allows us to proactively enhance safety measures on our buses and reinforces our district’s priority of putting students first in everything we do.”
Thanks were expressed to Doug Patterson, grounds and transportation supervisor, and Jay Tingle, treasurer, for their leadership and work in securing this grant.
The Ohio School Bus Safety Grant reflects the collaborative efforts of school districts and the state to maintain safety standards for student transportation throughout Ohio.
