If you don’t have your New Year’s Eve plans set yet, here are a few family-friendly ones.

If you don’t have your New Year’s Eve plans set yet, here are a few family-friendly ones:

Staying home can be a fun choice with a little planning and help from your kids. Why not make it a true party and buy hats and noisemakers and let your kids create decorations? Give them construction papers, stickers and crayons and let their imaginations soar.

Let each child choose a special snack to have at your party and play games or watch movies together in your pajamas. While it may not be the most exciting party in town, your kids will love it and remember the fun for years to come.

If getting out of the house seems more fun, Shelby Theatre will show “Anaconda” and “SpongeBob” that night. The last shows will begin at 6:45 p.m. and 7 p.m. The theater also will be open New Year’s Day.

Another option is a New Year’s Eve Bash hosted by the No Half Measures Group of Alcoholics Anonymous. This event will start at 7 p.m. at the Community Center on Brown’s Lane in Coshocton. There will be food, games, activities for kids, music and fellowship.

Legacy Lanes has two options for New Year’s Eve fun. The first option is a New Year’s Eve daytime special from noon to 8 p.m. The latest you can start to bowl is 6 p.m. The special includes two hours of bowling, shoes, a large pepperoni pizza and a pitcher of pop for up to five bowlers. The cost is $75 per lane. No other bowling specials or open bowling rates will apply Dec. 31. Reservations are recommended by calling the bowling alley at 740-575-4279.

The second option is the New Year’s Eve Ball Drop bowling event. This party is from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m., and tickets are $40 per person. There is a minimum of four people per lane, and tickets must be purchased in advance. Tickets include unlimited bowling, shoes, party favors, and a complimentary midnight snack of hot dogs, pizza, pork and kraut. Tickets can be purchased at the front counter of the bowling alley.

However you spend your New Year’s Eve, remember to be responsible. Be careful and watch out for others.
