Coshocton Fire, Wiley Companies collaborate on confined space rescue training
Partnership provides firefighters hands-on experience and enhances local emergency preparedness.
Representatives from both Coshocton Fire and Wiley Companies have worked to design and implement a confined space rescue plan for the Wiley facility on South Sixth Street.
Beyond developing the comprehensive response strategy, fire fighters dedicated significant time to mastering all the rope rescue equipment. These confined space rescues are inherently high-risk and highly technical operations. Sustained, rigorous training is essential to maintain proficiency and hone critical skills.
Thanks to this partnership, Wiley Companies granted Coshocton Fire a unique opportunity to validate training. They hosted a hands-on exercise, allowing crews to train within one of their confined space tanks. Without such community partnerships, firefighters would not be able to obtain this level of realistic experience.
If your organization is interested in partnering with the Coshocton Fire Department for a similar training opportunity, don't hesitate to reach out.
