Rotary Club hears presentation on early intervention services
Buck focused on Early Intervention Services, which are provided in the homes of children from birth to age 3
The Carrollton Rotary Club met Jan. 13 at The Villa Restaurant and welcomed Ryan Buck, director of educational services for the Carroll County Board of Developmental Disabilities, as the guest speaker.
Buck focused on Early Intervention Services, which are provided in the homes of children from birth to age 3 who are determined to be at increased risk for developmental delay or disability. The program is now operated locally by the Carroll County Board of Developmental Disabilities after several years of being contracted through Stark County.
Typically, 20 to 60 children receive Early Intervention Services at any given time, with developmental therapists employed by the board. Physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy also are available, with those services contracted through Stark County.
In other business, the club approved a corporate membership for the Carroll County Health Department.
The Carrollton Rotary Club is a member club of Rotary International, which promotes service in communities and around the world.
