Minerva National Honor Society inducts 30 students

The Minerva National Honor Society inducted 28 juniors and two seniors during an assembly held March 11. The tapping ceremony consisted of the presentation of the National Honor Society pin, card and key during a candlelight ceremony.

The newly elected seniors are Madison McGeorge, daughter of Matt and Karen McGeorge, and Layna Sanor, daughter of Keith and Amanda Sanor.

The newly elected juniors are Jaylynn Ady, daughter of Kody Murray and Misty Ady; Gracelyn Bigham, daughter of Fred and Christa Bigham; Alexis Bryan, daughter of Jack and Heather Bryan; Acacia Cottrill, daughter of Timothy Cottrill Jr.; Joshua Davidson, son of Jon and Amie Davidson; Jenna Dowell, daughter of Stephen and Jennifer Dowell; Natalie Essick, daughter of Nathan and Allison Essick; Brady First, son of Jared and Patricia First; Genevieve Galarneau, daughter of Michael and Rachel Galarneau; Alexis Gonzalez, daughter of Ian and Valerie Gonzalez; Benjamin Herstine, son of Roger and Marcy Herstine; Fox Johnson, son of Bryan and Emily Johnson; Kaden Kandel, son of Todd and Courtney Kandel; Kaden Knappenberger, son of Raymond Meadows and Katy Knappenberger; Faith Lehigh, daughter of Taravuth and Mirsha Lehigh; Taylor McGeorge, daughter of Matt and Karen McGeorge; Bailey Price, daughter of Ashley Snodgrass; Isabella Scarry, daughter of Christopher and Jessica Scarry; Delaney Sell, daughter of Christopher and Julie Sell; Tayler Sherwood, daughter of John and Tiffanie Sherwood; Jason Sivy Jr., son of Jason and Tammy Sivy; Benjamin Smith, son of Bryan and Tricia Smith; Sam Speelman, son of John and Ginny Speelman; Wyatt Stauffer, son of Devin Stauffer and Emily Laney; Kellen Troyer, son of Eric and Toni Troyer; Ethan Weaver, son of Matthew and Amy Weaver; Isiah Willison, son of Lance and Kristy Willison; and Callie Yeagley, daughter of Brett and Christy Yeagley.

The tapping ceremony was conducted by present members of the National Honor Society: Kayden Almasy, Grace Angione, Madalynn Bartley, David Bryan, Evelyn Bryan, Julian Elliott, Fallon Garlock, Lucas Hester, Rowen Hoffee, Hannah Kirkpatrick, Emily Lautzenheiser, Megan Lynn, Ray Meadows, Aiden Perrin, Owen Shick, Keegan Shingleton, Makayla Shook, Rianique Simmons, Macy Stowe, McKenzye Talkington, Autumn Thompson, Danika Wagner, Lincoln Wallace, Lanae Walter, Rachel Weaver, Ezekiel Wengerd, Bailey Wood, Braydon Wood and Owen Yoder.

Immediately following the tapping ceremony, a breakfast reception was held to honor the new inductees. The reception was attended by members of the National Honor Society, teachers, administrators and families of the newly elected members.

“The reception was a fitting climax to an impressive ceremony that honored the students who met the requirements of scholarship, leadership, service and character,” Lisa Cargill and Kamryn Bondoni, advisers to the society, said.
