The Minerva Area Historical Society will hold its first meeting of the year at 6 p.m. March 23 at the Minerva Public Library, 677 Lynnwood Drive.
The program will feature Marty Chapman, who will showcase Minerva’s Market Street Art Spot. Light refreshments will be served.
Officers for the new year are Linda Cowden, president; Beverly Skivolocki, vice president; Jim Crouse, treasurer; and Amy Mitchell, secretary. Trustees are Laurie McClellan, Mandi Loudon, Don Narris and Shirley Fox.
Outgoing president and vice president Chip and Kathy Syme were presented a plaque recognizing their years of service to the society during the Big Band Christmas fundraiser held at the Roxy Theatre Dec. 12. They will continue to serve as volunteers.
Those interested in volunteering may call or text Cowden at 330-771-2760 or stop by the museum.
Society meetings are held the fourth Monday of each month at 6 p.m. at the library and are open to anyone interested in preserving local history.
The Haas Museum, located downtown under the big clock at 128 N. Market St., is open Wednesdays from noon to 4 p.m. and during Second Friday events and other special occasions.
