An extensive list of area scholarships is available for seniors and graduates using the Carroll Unified Scholarship application

According to Renae Gross, school counselor at Carrollton High School, an extensive list of area scholarships is available by logging into student emails, contacting the counseling office at 330-627-8258, or visiting the Carrollton High School website at carrolltonschools.org under High School Counseling/Scholarships. 

Following is a list of scholarships available for Carrollton High School and Carroll County seniors and graduates using the Carroll Unified Scholarship application, which is posted on the Carrollton High School website. The deadline for submitting the CUS application is Friday, March 20. 

The 27 CUS application allows applicants to complete one form and apply for any of the following unified scholarships:

Other scholarships available 

The following scholarships are also available through the CHS counseling office: 

— John and Evelyn L. Ashton Philanthropic Fund — Eligibility: Seniors attending Carroll County high schools. This scholarship is renewable for up to four years. Applicants must reapply each year. For instructions on how to reapply, visit ashtonmuseum.com. 

— Keith Knowles Memorial Scholarship — Applicants must be active in the community and church and be current seniors or graduates. 

— Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Ohio Scholarship — Applicants must be graduating seniors from Carrollton High School and include one letter of recommendation. 

— Homer Unkefer Agricultural Scholarship — Available to seniors and graduates from Carroll, Columbiana, Jefferson, Mahoning, Stark, Summit, or Wayne counties enrolled in a two- or four-year agriculture curriculum. 

— Medical Mutual Scholarship — Seniors graduating from Ohio school districts that carry Medical Mutual insurance are eligible to apply online for a one-time $1,000 scholarship. The top six applicants across the state will receive a $10,000 award. Apply at cfprograms.smapply.io/prog/medmutual by March 13. 

— Thomas and Lucille Yeager Memorial Award — Presented to a graduating senior interested in local history through volunteer activities. Students from Tuscarawas and Carroll counties are eligible. Applications must be submitted by March 15. 

— BBB Life Lessons Scholarship — This essay contest challenges students to reflect on living a life of integrity and ethics. The top six essays receive scholarships ranging from $500 to $2,500. Open to high school seniors in Carroll, Belmont, Guernsey, Harrison, Holmes, Jefferson, Monroe, Morgan, Noble, Stark, Tuscarawas, and Washington counties. Apply online by March 1 at bit.ly/CantonBBBLifeLessonsEssayContest.

A list of additional scholarship applications is available at Stark Community Foundation (starkcf.org) under non-county scholarships. 

— The Church of Christ (Christian Disciples) Memorial Scholarship — Available to Carroll County residents who are active in the Church of Christ. 

— W. Bruce Umpleby Law Enforcement Scholarship — Available to high school students planning to major in law enforcement. 

— Margaret Lazer-Emma Lupher Scholarship — For students pursuing an associate degree in nursing at Aultman College or an Aultman alumna pursuing a BSN or Ph.D. in nursing. 

— Loris and Merle Coe Memorial Scholarship — Open to Carroll County students actively involved in scouting. 

— Manzer-Keener-Wefler Scholarship — Open to Stark County or contiguous county residents studying photography or visual arts.
