Wooster food drive aims to ease hunger
Event on Feb. 14 at Wayne County Library to address SNAP reductions, open to all.
A Give & Take Food Drive will be held Saturday, Feb. 14 from 12:30-2:30 p.m. at the Wayne County Public Library, 220 W. Liberty St., in the large conference room. Drive-up drop-off will be available.
The event is intended to help ease food insecurity due to current and upcoming SNAP reductions and will have no restrictions or regulations. Community members are invited to give what they can and take what they need, with no forms required.
Donations may include nonperishable goods, gift cards for food, hearty produce such as potatoes or carrots, and/or monetary contributions to local organizations that address food insecurity including The Hope Center, Homeward Bound, People to People, Trinity Breakfast Program, Wooster Community Kitchen, Persophenea’s Giving Plate, United Way and local street pantries.
The food drive is not sponsored by the Wayne County Public Library and is cosponsored by the Wooster Advocacy Group and the Wooster Democratic Socialists of America.
Organizers say the event is designed to benefit the entire community.
