Counseling Center of Wayne and Holmes expands day treatment services with telehealth
Wayne County Community Foundation funding improves access to intensive care
The Counseling Center of Wayne and Holmes has expanded its ability to provide day treatment services to individuals in need of more intensive care through a partnership with the Wayne County Community Foundation.
The foundation provided funds to obtain the technology and equipment needed to offer these services through a telehealth option, allowing better access for those who may experience barriers to regularly attending the program.
The day treatment program offers group and individual treatment five days a week for three hours a day to assist in stabilizing those identified as most at risk due to severe and persistent mental health symptoms. The program is also used to intervene with at-risk youth and helps prevent family disruption and frequent hospitalizations.
The Counseling Center thanked the foundation for its ongoing support in improving the community through better service access and availability.
