Wayne County Schools Career Center hosts Dec. 4 open house for students, families and adults

Visitors can tour programs, meet instructors, explore new fire/EMT training and apply for 2025–26 during the annual event.

The Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches Association will host the OHSVCA State All-Star Match and All-Ohio Awards Sunday, Nov. 16 at Wooster High School. Games will begin with Divisions V-VII at 11 a.m. Awards for all divisions will begin at 12:30 p.m., with Divisions I-IV playing immediately afterward.

The 44th annual contest will feature 100 of the best high school volleyball athletes from the state, as well as ten of the top coaches, as selected by their peers.

The Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches Association announced the players chosen from Wayne and Holmes counties to be recognized as OHSVCA State All-Star Match award winners.

Local players include River View’s Haley Balo, Northwestern’s Claire Buchholz, Dover’s Caroline Hanner and Quincey Werntz, Norwayne’s Ava Maibach, Tuscarawas Valley’s Adidason Spivey, Tuscarawas Central Catholic’s Khloe Trivoli, Waynedale’s Callie Wolfe and Wooster’s Sara Snowbarger. All players will be playing in the OHSVCA State All-Star match. Dover’s Beth Mathews will coach an all-star team.

Locals receiving All-Ohio awards are Snowbarger (Div. II, first team), Dover’s Hanner (Div. III, first), and Werntz (Div. III, second), River View’s Kelsie Smith (Div. IV, second) and Balo (Div. IV, first), Triway's Taylor Mathis (Div. V, first), Maibach (Div. V, second), Tusky Valley's Spivey (Div. V, second), Northwestern's Buchholz (Div. V, honorable mention), Dalton's Sara Geibel (Div. VI, second) and Mya Geiser (Div. VI, HM), Garaway's Charlee Yoder (Div. VI, HM) and Tusky CC's Trivoli (Div. VII, first).
