Wayne County Izaak Walton League to host mobility-impaired deer hunt Dec. 1-3

Applications due Nov. 15; accessible carts and four covered blinds offered, with Nov. 23 orientation ahead of 2025 deer gun season in West Salem

The Wayne County Izaak Walton League will host a mobility-impaired deer hunt Dec. 1-3 in West Salem, with applications due Nov. 15 and an orientation set for Nov. 23.

The Wayne County Izaak Walton League is sponsoring a mobility-impaired deer hunt. This hunt allows permanently or temporarily disabled hunters, wheelchair bound or not, the opportunity to hunt during the 2025 deer gun season. Hunting experience is not required, but a valid hunting license and deer permit are required of each hunter. The hunt location is 6928 Cedar Valley Road in West Salem.

The hunt is scheduled for Monday, Dec. 1 through Wednesday, Dec. 3. Wheelchair-accessible carts will be available to transport hunters, and there will be four covered blinds to hunt from.

Applications are currently being accepted with a deadline of Nov. 15. There will be a hunter orientation on Sunday, Nov. 23 at 1 p.m. This orientation will allow hunters to view the blinds and become familiar with the club grounds before their time to hunt.

Call Roger Schrader at 330-988-0486 for an application.
