Wayne County Board of Elections announces polling location changes
Voters in Creston, Chester, Plain and East Union townships will cast ballots at new sites starting Nov. 4
Voters in the village of Creston, parts of Chester Township, Eastern Plain Township and all of East Union Township including Apple Creek will vote at a new polling location beginning with the Nov. 4 general election.
“The board of elections is required to consider many factors when drawing precinct boundaries and choosing polling locations,” Deputy Director Bryon Bell said. “Occasionally, precinct boundaries have to be reassessed due to population changes and occurrences like new housing developments and annexations.
"When it comes to polling locations, handicapped accessibility, availability of parking, voter safety, interior space, cost, voter experience and many other factors all play a role in making this decision. Sometimes, circumstances arise that require a polling location to be changed.”
The Wayne County Board of Elections does not change a precinct boundary or polling location unless it is necessary.
Every voter affected by these changes was mailed a notice to the address in their voter record. This information also will be prominently featured on the Wayne County Board of Elections website, social media accounts and press releases to local media as the election approaches.
The Wayne County Board of Elections website address is www.WayneCountyOH.gov.
Voter information can be checked to confirm the polling location by using the Voter Information Lookup Tool. Just enter a name.
A polling place also can be found by entering a voter’s address in the Polling Place Search Tool.
To view all polling locations, use the Precinct and Polling Location Lookup Tool.
For additional questions call the board of elections at 330-287-5480.
