Click It or Ticket
Seat belt campaign kicks off at Wayne County Speedway
Click It or Ticket effort begins ahead of enforcement period
Safe Communities of Wayne County will launch the 2026 Click It or Ticket campaign during the “Redneck Rumble” at the Wayne County Speedway Saturday, May 16.
As racing fans gather for OVSCA Sprints and Late Models, safety advocates will be on-site to remind the community that the most vital piece of safety equipment is the seat belt.
“The goal is for every fan to make it home safely,” said Hope Griffin, Safe Communities project coordinator. “A seat belt is your best defense in a crash. We’re asking everyone to buckle up every trip, every time.”
The event will be held at Wayne County Speedway, 10833 W. Smyser Road, Orrville. Gates open at 3 p.m., and racing begins at 7 p.m.
The national Click It or Ticket enforcement period runs from May 18 through May 31. During this time, law enforcement agencies across Ohio, including the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office and the Ohio State Highway Patrol, will increase patrols to ensure drivers and passengers are buckled up, day and night.
