Orthopedic services expand in Wooster
Wooster Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Center joins Bloomington Medical Services beginning Feb. 1
Wooster Community Hospital Health System and Bloomington Medical Services LLC announced Wooster Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Center will join their multi-specialty physician group. The practice will operate under its new name, Bloomington Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, beginning Feb. 1.
This transition brings the team of Dr. Rodney Miller, Dr. Nicholas Spittle, Dr. Steven Widmer, and physician assistants Ray Eshenaur, Ellen Kelly, Breanne Pompey and Brittney Tyson into the Bloomington Medical Services group. The addition will expand access to specialized orthopedic services for the community and surrounding areas. Patients can expect the same care including orthopedic surgery, physical therapy and advanced diagnostic imaging.
“Our goal in partnering more closely with Drs. Miller, Spittle and Widmer is to strengthen an already outstanding orthopedic program and further enhance the high-quality, progressive care available to our community,” said Scott Boyes, WCH president/CEO.
“Wooster Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Center has invested a considerable amount of time and energy in trying to identify the best partner for our patients, employees and our community,” Drs. Miller, Spittle and Widmer said in a shared statement. “Through that process we felt that Bloomington Medical Services and Wooster Community Hospital gave us the best opportunity to continue to care for our patients with the same compassionate local feel and continue the mission of providing an excellent level of personal and professional orthopedic care to Wooster and the surrounding communities we have served for the last 40-plus years.”
Continuous access to surgical care remains a priority. Patients will continue to receive care in the Wooster, Orrville and Millersburg communities. The entire orthopedic team will remain in place.
