Buehler’s campaign supports Adaptive Sports Ohio
Shoppers at all Buehler’s Fresh Foods stores can donate at checkout from June 14 to July 5 to help fund adaptive sports programs statewide
Adaptive Sports Ohio and Buehler’s Fresh Foods are teaming up once again for their 9th annual A Chance To Play Campaign, uniting the community to champion the belief that everyone deserves the chance to play sports.
For individuals living with physical disabilities, the high cost of specialized equipment and a lack of local programs often mean watching from the sidelines. As Ohio’s largest adaptive sports nonprofit, Woosterheadquartered Adaptive Sports Ohio is on a mission to shatter these barriers across Ohio and local shoppers are invited to be a part of the solution.
How to Support the Campaign
From June 14 through July 5, 2026, shoppers at all Buehler’s Fresh Foods locations can support the
cause at checkout by:
• Rounding up their grocery total to the nearest dollar.
• Making a flat-dollar donation to the campaign.
“Nine years of partnership with Buehler’s has shown us the immense power of our community,” said Lisa Followay, President/CEO of Adaptive Sports Ohio. “The generosity of Buehler's shoppers doesn't just fund equipment, it unlocks independence, builds lifelong friendships, and ensures that individuals with disabilities can experience the thrill of sports.”
A Legacy of Impact
Since its inception in 2018, the community-driven campaign has raised over $120,000 thanks to the generosity of Buehler’s customers.
These vital funds directly fuel year-round community-based and interscholastic programs for youth and adults across the state. Supported sports include: sled hockey, wheelchair basketball, adaptive track and field, wheelchair football and power wheelchair soccer.
“At Buehler’s, we believe in nourishing our communities in every sense of the word, and true inclusion is at the heart of that mission,” said Jeff Tomassetti, Produce/Floral Director at Buehler’s Fresh Foods and President of the Adaptive Sports Ohio Board of Directors. “We see firsthand how these donations level the playing field. Our entire team is incredibly proud to champion this campaign and help give Ohio athletes the resources they need to participate.”
