Auditions set for '1776 the Musical' in Wooster

Summer Stage Wooster will hold auditions for “1776 the Musical” from 6-9 p.m. April 16 and 17 at the Wooster High School Performing Arts Center, with performances scheduled for July 11, 12, 17, 18 and 19.

Those interested must reserve an audition time slot in advance by visiting www.sswoo.org/audition. If none of the available times work, participants may email tpatterson@summerstagewooster.org to inquire about other options.
Audition participants should prepare to sing 16-32 bars of a song from a Broadway show. Singers may perform a cappella or with a recording, though bringing sheet music for the piano accompanist is preferred. Callbacks will be by invitation only and held Saturday, April 18. Performances of "1776 the Musical" are scheduled for July 11, 12, 17, 18 and 19.
Casting will be gender neutral. While the show as written includes only two female roles, Summer Stage Wooster will consider all males and females for casting and will select the best actors, singers and dancers for each role.
In addition, Summer Stage Wooster will present a preshow Salute to 250 segment featuring area children age 6-15. Auditions for the preshow will be held at a later date.
