First Town Days announces 2025 scholarship recipients

Four area students were awarded $1,000 scholarships during the First Town Days Opening Ceremonies, sponsored by VFW Post 1445. The annual awards recognize graduating seniors from local high schools for academic achievement and community involvement.

The 2025 scholarship recipients are as follows:

—Keira Watkins, representing Claymont High School, daughter of Gary and Heather Watkins.

—Maggie Hamilton, representing Tuscarawas Valley High School, daughter of William and Kaley Hamilton

—Lake Van Sickle, representing Dover High School, son of Chad and Gretchen Van Sickle.

—McCasland Steele, representing New Philadelphia High School, son of Todd and Evelyn Steele.

First Town Days and VFW Post 1445 congratulated the students and extended their best wishes for continued success in their future endeavors.
