The Sprouts 4-H Garden Club will offer Medina County youth a hands-on, nine-session program this spring and summer to learn gardening skills.

Medina County youth are invited to dig in and get growing with the OSU Extension Sprouts Club this spring and summer.

The special-interest club, offered through Medina 4-H and Master Gardener Volunteers, introduces youth to gardening through a nine-session, hands-on series. Participants will explore topics including soil preparation and composting, planting seeds and transplants, plant care and pollinators.

The program concludes with youth presentations, a garden celebration and a 4-H club display at the Medina County Fair. By the end of the series, participants will gain the knowledge and confidence to garden at home.

4-H programs are open to youth ages 5 and in kindergarten through age 18, though this program is best suited for ages 6-12.

The first session is April 14, with classes held from 5:30-6:45 p.m. on select dates through Aug. 1. The cost is $15 per child.

Registration is required. For more information or assistance, contact the Medina Extension Office at 330-725-4911.
