Art and beauty are often thought to be synonymous, but art is also a conversation between the artist and the audience. The show "A Path Forward" offers not only beauty but also thought-provoking pieces that encourage dialogue about today’s pressing issues and conflicting ideas. By listening quietly to others and letting the art speak, visitors may discover common ground — and a path forward.

This marks the 10th year of exhibitions for the PerSisters, a group that formed in response to the turmoil of the 2016 presidential election. The artists remain committed to an unflinching, unapologetic view of where they fit in the world, using art to showcase subjects that inspire, provoke, delight and stimulate both social conscience and artistic nerves.

Each year the PerSisters invite a guest artist whose work aligns with their mission. This year’s guest “PerMister” is Lou Camerato, an Akron assemblage artist.

A reception with the artists will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 12, at the third-floor gallery of Medina County District Library, 210 S. Broadway, Medina. The show runs from Oct. 6 to Nov. 1.
