Medina Kiwanis carolers to raise funds for winter clothing for local students

Volunteers in festive attire will sing at area restaurants Dec. 12 to support coats, boots and other essentials for K-12 students

Volunteers dressed as Santas and elves will carol at Medina restaurants Dec. 12 to raise money for the Kiwanis Club’s winter clothing program for local students.

The Kiwanis Club of Medina will hold its annual Christmas Carol fundraiser on Friday, Dec. 12, when dozens of volunteers dressed as Santas and elves will visit area restaurants to collect donations supporting the club’s winter clothing program for local students.

Now in its 15th year, the event raises money to buy coats, boots, hats, gloves and other cold-weather essentials for Medina students in kindergarten through 12th grade. Carolers – made up of Kiwanis members, community volunteers and local high school Key Club students – secure pledges or donate themselves to participate.

Volunteers will sing at participating Medina restaurants from 6 to 9 p.m., including Tres Potrillos, Fiesta Jalapeños, Quaker Steak, Johnny Malloy’s, Johnny J’s, P.J. Marley’s, Sully’s, Thyme 2, Dominic’s/JoJo’s, Farmer’s Table and Buffalo Wild Wings.

Donations may be made in advance at medinakiwanis.org, by mailing a check to “Kiwanis Club of Medina” with “Christmas Carol” in the memo line at P.O. Box 903, Medina, OH 44258, or in person at any participating restaurant that evening.
