Construction continues to advance on Medina’s Legacy Hotel, a five-story boutique developers say will bring a long-awaited level of hospitality to the Historic District.

The five-story Legacy Hotel is rising in downtown Medina, featuring 77 guest rooms, upscale dining, and a rooftop bar that will bring modern hospitality to the Historic District.

Jason Stevenson, a Medina native and managing partner at Autonomy Capital Group, is leading the project. On Tuesday, Stevenson hosted Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose and local media members for a tour of the 257 S. Court St. construction site, where framing work was the latest action. Crews have been building vertically for the past several weeks, with windows set to be installed soon, followed by interior finishes.

The Legacy will feature 77 guest rooms — including suites — along with a rooftop bar, coffee and cocktail lounge, and two full-service restaurants. The fifth floor will house La Vista Rooftop Bar, offering coastal Italian fare and a raw bar, while the ground floor will feature Privato, an upscale restaurant specializing in chops, seafood and Italian cuisine, and Lily Jean’s, a coffee and cocktail bar named for Stevenson’s grandmother.

The hotel will also include meeting and event spaces, a fitness studio, and more than 110 parking spaces. A late-summer 2026 opening is anticipated, according to project officials.

Stevenson, whose family’s roots in Medina trace back over 200 years, said watching the project take shape has been a prideful experience – stating his goal is to create something that honors the city’s history while adding a modern hospitality experience that serves residents and visitors alike.

The Legacy project broke ground in July 2024. Riley Hotel Group, based in Medina, will manage the hotel, while Pride One Construction and Mann Parsons Gray Architects are handling construction and design.

According to stakeholders, the hotel will serve as both a luxury stay and a social hub for residents and visitors, with outdoor dining terraces, a conservatory and spaces for private events. Developers hope it to attract new visitors to Medina’s Square and support nearby businesses.

Stevenson said the name “Legacy” reflects both his family’s history in the community and his vision for Medina’s future, calling the project a way to give back to the place where he grew up.
