Historic Medina Symphony to begin fall rehearsals Sept. 15
The Historic Medina Symphony, also known as the Symphonia of the Western Reserve, will begin rehearsals at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 15 in Room 101 at the Brunswick Recreation Center. Musicians from high school age through adult, regardless of experience, are welcome to join without audition and are asked to bring a music stand and pencil.
Founded in 1913, the Historic Medina Symphony is one of Medina’s oldest and most cherished arts institutions, serving as a cultural touchstone in the Western Reserve for more than a century. The ensemble will perform its fall concert Nov. 23 at the Brunswick Recreation Center Auditorium.
Shirley Ann Walker, who marked her 30th year as conductor in 2023, continues to lead the orchestra. She is a retired music educator and professional trumpet player.
