Rep. Mark Hiner praises $6.4 billion Taiwan investment in Ohio agriculture
Delegation’s visit to Statehouse underscores growing trade partnership and global confidence in Ohio’s corn and soybean producers
State Rep. Mark Hiner (R-Howard) is pleased to highlight the recent announcement of a significant investment from Taiwan’s agricultural industry into Ohio’s corn and soybean markets, strengthening the growing trade partnership between Ohio and Taiwan.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture Wen-Jane Tu and several leaders from Taiwan’s agricultural sector visited the Ohio Statehouse to meet with Ohio officials and industry representatives. During the visit, leaders signed Letters of Intent outlining Taiwan’s intended purchases of corn and soybean products from Ohio. This investment is expected to generate $6.4 billion in revenue for Ohio farmers.
“I was honored to meet with Deputy Minister Tu and the Taiwanese delegation to celebrate this major milestone for Ohio agriculture,” said Hiner. “This investment shows that Ohio is a trusted partner on the global stage, and it will bring meaningful opportunities for farmers and agribusinesses across our state.”
Hiner joined members of the Ohio General Assembly in welcoming the delegation, learning about Taiwan’s agricultural best practices, and discussing opportunities for future collaboration between Ohio and Taiwan.
A joint proclamation from the Ohio House and Senate was presented to the Taiwanese delegation in recognition of the occasion.
