Parker's no-hitter lifts Centerburg to victory
Freshman whiffs seven in win over Mount Gilead
Dustin Parker threw a no-hitter as Centerburg knocked off Mount Gilead, 7-1, on April 30.
Parker allowed just one walk and one unearned run while striking out seven Indians on the day.
Offensively, Vinny Morgan led the Trojans with a double and two singles. Clarke Redd added a double and a single, while Aiden Trobridge added two singles.
The Trojans smacked 18 hits in beating Granville Christian, 16-1, on May 2.
Trobridge led the assault with a triple, double and three RBI. Gabe Campos added a triple and a single, while Ryan Long and Quentin Bellamy each had a single and a double. Morgan, Parker and Lincoln Julian each stroked two singles.
Kaleb Rauck pitched the first two innings, striking out three. Gavin Snow fanned one in his two innings of work and Mason Smith struck out one.
Softball
Abby Herren and Jazmyn Larimore led an offensive explosion as Centerburg beat Mount Gilead, 22-2, on April 30.
Herren had two home runs, two singles and drove in nine runs for the Trojans. Larimore added two home runs, a double and five RBI. Taylor Bryant also doubled for CHS.
Morgan Beaver started on the hill for Centerburg, allowing two hits in two innings. Briley Cline finished up, fanning three.
Centerburg scored four in the seventh inning and held on to beat Madison, 8-5, on May 1.
Herren cracked a home run and a single to pace CHS. Kallie Webb added a single and a double, while Larimore, Sydnee Schoonover and Taylor Bryant all doubled.
Beaver went the distance on the hill, striking out one.
