MV boys' bowling team advances to districts; girls have three moving on
Bowlers will compete in district on Feb. 24 at HP Lanes

The Mount Vernon boys’ bowling team and three girls are
moving on in tournament play.
The Yellow Jackets finished 13th as a team in the
Div. I sectional tournament at HP Lanes in Columbus on Feb. 18, placing high enough
to advance to district competition on Feb. 24. MV shot 3,644 as a team to
advance.
Andrew Primm led the Jackets with a 575 series (176-235-164)
and was 39th overall individually. Griffin Beach shot 565
(173-223-169) to place 43rd, while Cooper Ferguson was 62nd
with a 538 series (216-152-170) and Bryce Hollenback shot 496 (176-150-170).
The girls’ team placed 19th overall as a team
with a 2,781 pinfall count. They just missed moving on as a team, but three
individuals were able to advance.
Addyson Dusenberry shot 478 (123-176-179) to finish 32nd
individually and move on. Elena Culletto was 37th with a 467 series
(139-174-154) and Haylie Watts shot 447 (148-182-117).
The boys’ team and girls’ individuals will compete in
district play on Feb. 24 at 11 a.m. at HP Lanes.
