Twenty-three Mount Vernon FFA members traveled to the Molly Caren Agricultural Center in London, Ohio, on Sept. 18 to attend the annual Farm Science Review. The Farm Science Review attracts more than 100,000 visitors from across the United States and Canada each year, providing opportunities to explore more than 4,000 product lines from 600 exhibitors and to learn from Ohio State specialists presenting the latest in agricultural production.

During the day, students visited the Gwynne Conservation Area, a 67-acre demonstration and education site for agricultural and natural resource management practices. At the GCA, members engaged with conservation professionals and learned about streams, wetlands, ponds, windbreaks, crop tree plantings, wildlife food plots, riparian forests, and other conservation practices. Students also explored the all-season log cabin that serves as an educational center for classes and demonstrations.

In addition, Mount Vernon FFA members observed field demonstrations showcasing the latest harvesting equipment, drone technology, tillage practices, nutrient and lime applications, and drainage installations. The 100-acre exhibit area and surrounding 600 acres of demonstration fields gave members a hands-on look at the wide range of opportunities and innovations shaping modern agriculture.

The Farm Science Review was an exciting and educational experience, offering Mt. Vernon FFA members valuable exposure to career paths, conservation efforts, and cutting-edge technology in the agricultural industry.
