Knox County CVB wins four RUBY Awards for marketing excellence

Tourism bureau honored at Ohio Conference on Travel for standout print, media, and digital storytelling efforts promoting Knox County

Knox County Convention and Visitors Bureau Executive Director Olivia Toth holds the four RUBY awards the organization received from the Ohio Travel Association.

Knox County Convention and Visitors Bureau recently received recognition for achievement in marketing and advertising at the Ohio Travel Association’s RUBY Awards presentation, held Oct. 2 at The Lodge at Geneva-on-the-Lake in Ashtabula.

Knox County CVB was a finalist in all five categories they were nominated in and brought home four RUBY Awards for Print Advertisement, Annual Report, Print Media and Blog categories. Accepting the awards was Olivia Toth, executive director.

The Ohio Travel Association’s RUBY Awards recognize excellence in Ohio’s hospitality and tourism industry for efforts in advertising, marketing and public relations. In this year’s competition, the Recognizing Uncommon Brilliance Yearly Awards had over 240 entries in 17 categories. The awards, sponsored by Ohio Magazine, were presented during the Ohio Conference on Travel, the state’s tourism conference for all sectors of the tourism industry.

“Our organization is honored to be a finalist in these categories and bring home the RUBY for four competitive categories,” said Toth. “To be recognized at the state level and by other state travel industry professionals, lets us know we are doing high quality work to continually put Knox County on the map.”

Nine marketing professionals representing academia, consulting firms and ad agencies judged each entry on the basis of overall concept, results and creativity.

“Winners truly represent the best of the best in marketing strategy and design. It’s inspiring.” said Melinda Huntley, Ohio Travel Association executive director.
