KCH now offers self-referral for mammograms

Patients can schedule screening appointments directly, no primary care referral needed

Knox Community Hospital is now offering self-referral mammograms.

Self-referral mammograms are now available at Knox Community Hospital. Patients no longer need a Primary Care referral to schedule a screening mammogram.

Prevention and early detection are the keys to optimizing breast health. The Centers for Disease Control & Prevention recommends that women begin having yearly mammograms at age 40, earlier if they are considered high risk. Mammograms are simple procedures that allow a radiologist to look for certain indicators of disease or masses in the breast. Early detection is your best defense.

Please note: Diagnostic mammograms do not qualify. Patients who have experienced a lump, pain, or discharge or otherwise need a diagnosis should contact their primary care provider. If you don't have a primary care provider and need a diagnostic mammogram, visit kch.org/family-medicine

Schedule your screening mammogram today by calling (740) 392-8378.
