KCH announces appointment of new Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Tamara Holzer

Knox Community Hospital announced the appointment of Tamara Holzer, DO, FACOS, CPE, MBA, as Chief Medical Officer. With a distinguished career as a general surgeon spanning 14 years, six of those at KCH, Dr. Holzer will continue her clinical practice while embracing this new leadership position. In her role as CMO, she will be responsible for directing clinical operations, ensuring quality of care, and providing leadership to the medical staff throughout the organization.

Holzer earned her doctorate degree from Des Moines University and completed her surgical residency at Doctors Hospital in Columbus from 2005 to 2011. She has a wealth of experience, having delivered medical and surgical care in locations including Zambia, Ecuador, Guatemala, the Dominican Republic, and Bangladesh. Holzer is married to Philip Holzer, OD, and the couple resides in Mount Vernon.
