Every Monday evening, the doors of First Presbyterian Church open wide to welcome members of the community for a warm, nourishing meal served with kindness and compassion.
The church’s Hot Meals Program runs weekly from 5:30-6:30 p.m., offering a free hot dinner to anyone in need — no questions asked. Volunteers from the congregation and the wider community work together to prepare and serve hearty meals in a welcoming and respectful environment.
This important outreach effort recently received a boost thanks to a generous grant from Food for the Hungry, which will help offset the cost of food, ensuring the program can continue to serve those who rely on it.
“We’re incredibly grateful for the support from Food for the Hungry,” said Jan Watson, FPC Hot Meals coordinator. “This grant helps us continue our mission of providing not just food, but also fellowship and dignity to our guests each week.”
The program, which has been steadily growing, serves a wide range of individuals — from families with children struggling to make ends meet to seniors on fixed incomes, and anyone else in need of a warm meal and a welcoming place to gather.
First Presbyterian Church invites all who would benefit from a hot meal to join them on Mondays between 5:30-6:30 p.m.
