Danville boys hand Northmor first league loss, rout Loudonville

Blue Devils clamp down defensively to topple unbeaten Knights, then cruise past Redbirds behind balanced scoring.

The Danville boys’ basketball team knocked Northmor from the ranks of the unbeaten in the Knox Morrow Athletic Conference on Jan. 3. The Blue Devils used a strong first half defense to take control and beat the Knights, 54-41.

Parker Proper scored 13 points to lead a balanced offensive attack for Danville, which held the Knights to just 15 points in the first half. Ashton Spaulding added 11 points, while Aidan Mickley had 10, Owen Gronberg eight and Wesley Payne seven.

The Blue Devils followed that up by pounding on host Loudonville, 68-23, on Jan. 5.

Danville jumped out to a 20-4 lead after one quarter and never looked back.

Parker Proper led the Devils with 15 points. Payne added 14, while Briggs Wallace had eight and Carson Proper and Gronberg each had six.
