Centerburg rolls past East Knox to clinch share of KMAC title
The Trojans rushed for 481 yards in a 59-6 win and can secure the conference crown outright with a victory at Fredericktown

Centerburg clinched at least a share of the Knox Morrow
Athletic Conference crown with a 59-6 victory over visiting East Knox on
Friday.
The Trojans will travel to Fredericktown this week with an
opportunity to grab the title outright. The Freddies are just one game behind
Centerburg heading into the final week.
The Trojans (8-1 overall, 6-0 KMAC) powered their way
through the Bulldogs, rushing for 481 yards as a team. Miles Marshall led the
way with 229 yards on just six carries, scoring twice, including a 36-yarder
and a 25-yarder, both in the first quarter.
Shawn Carter added 164 yards on just five carries, scoring
three times on runs of 69, 18 and 68 yards. Henry Carlisle had 64 yards on two
carries, including a 36-yard TD.
Quarterback Blane Ball attempted just five passes on the
night, completing three for 66 yards. He hit Hayden Love on a 48-yard TD strike
in the second quarter.
After Centerburg scored the first two touchdowns, East Knox
responded with a 65-yard bomb from Jax Lester to Cason Faucett midway through
the first quarter. But, the Trojans would run off 43 straight points to grab
the victory.
Lester completed 8 of 21 passes for 142 yards and the score.
Faucett caught three passes for 65 yards overall.
Mount Vernon falls to Licking Valley
After taking an initial lead in the first quarter, the Mount
Vernon football team found out why the Panthers are the top team in the Licking
County League year after year.
The Panthers scored 29 straight points and went on to a
58-13 victory over the Yellow Jackets. LV clinched at least a share of this
year’s LCL title with the win.
MV (6-3 overall, 3-1 LCL) scored early in the game on a
19-yard pass from Mason Richards to Greyson Deem.
But, the Panthers (9-0, 4-0) followed the lead of its two
offensive stars – quarterback Brody Rogers and running game Donevin Ghiloni –
to blow open the game. Rogers scored on a 33-yard run, then Ghiloni followed
with a 12-yarder. Dylan Keely added a 21-yard run for a TD and Rogers hit Quinn
Hornfeck for a 44-yard score and the Panthers never looked back.
Richards added a 35-yard TD run midway through the third
quarter, but the Panthers scored another 29 straight to pull away.
Richards led the Jackets with 68 yards rushing and completed
3 of 11 passes for 42 yards. Jake Hubbard added 27 yards rushing, while Deem
caught a 19-yard TD and Bryce Kreager caught a 15-yard pass for MV.
Defensively, Landon Dawson had five tackles, including a
sack, to lead Mount Vernon. Ben Fitzpatrick, Carter Hill, Darrin Monahan and
Luke Mullins each had four tackles.
