Centerburg was founded in 1834 and is known for its rich history and vibrant community. Every year, the village celebrates the state's heart with the Heart of Ohio USA Days Festival, which takes place on the last weekend of June.

It's believed that Centerburg got its name because it was an ideal spot where horses could rest midway between Columbus and Mount Vernon. In 1960, it was officially recognized as being the physical center of Ohio by then governor Michael DiSalle after a survey determined that the village was precisely one mile east of the geographic center of the state.

The heart of Ohio USA Days Festival is a celebration that honors not only Centerburg history but the present and future, too. The festival has become an annual tradition for many residents who look forward to participating every summer. It features events such as parades, firework shows, live music performances, and so much more. People come from all over to enjoy this special weekend filled with fun activities for both young and old alike.

“It's the one time of year it brings all my family home and I get to see all my childhood friends. It was always a big part of our summer fun when I was growing up,” Ashley Powelson said.“It was nice to get together with old friends and just hang out like the old days. Watching the fireworks together really brought back some good memories,” Corey Eakin said.

“I love putting on a show for people and to be able to be a part of the Heart of Ohio Festival was really fun. We are so thankful we were invited to play tonight as the last act on the last night,” Jake and Elwood from the Sensational Soul Brothers and Revue.

If you missed this one don’t worry this isn't the only festival that Centerburg holds. You can look forward to the Old Time Farming Festival held the third weekend of September every year. Bringing even more fun to the small town of Centerburg: hay rides, new to old style tractors to look at, a pie auction, fun contests and games, you can also play quarters in the sand and, of course, don’t forget the live music.
