Troyer's one-hitter lifts Danville baseball team to win
Blue Devils win one, lose one during week's action

Reuben Troyer tossed a one-hitter as Danville beat
Loudonville, 11-1, on April 22.
Troyer fanned four and walked two in picking up the victory.

Nolan Ridgway led the Blue Devils offensively with a home
run, a single and three RBI. Curtis Cline added two singles and three RBI,
while Brycen Burke, Troyer, Clayton Vance, Cy Wallace and Jacob Byers all
singled.
The Devils watch a 5-0 lead disappear as Fredericktown
rallied for a 6-5 victory in eight innings Tuesday.
Burke led the Devils with a double and a single. Cy Wallace
added two singles, while Troyer, Cline and Vance had one each.
Ridgway pitched the first five innings for Danville, striking
out nine. Vance followed for the next 1.2 innings, fanning one, and Burke
finished up with one strikeout.
Softball
Strong pitching and timely hitting led the Danville softball
team to a trio of victories.

Addy Bocock allowed Loudonville just three hits in helping
DHS to a 4-1 victory on April 22. Bocock struck out 12 on the day.
Offensively, Kaylee Martin smacked a triple and a single to
pace Danville. Bocock and Dalayna Parker each had a double and a single, while
Riley Johnston doubled.
Taylor Meade’s two-run double in the sixth inning lifted
Danville to a 6-4 victory over Sheridan on April 25.
Ruby Bartok added a home run and a single for Danville,
while Martin and Ryleigh Geog both singled.
Bocock went the distance on the mound, striking out nine.
Bocock tossed a two-hitter as Danville beat Fredericktown, 3-1,
on Tuesday.
The senior struck out 10 and walked four in the victory.
She also led the offense with a triple, two singles and two
RBI. Martin added a double and two singles, while Parker stroked a single.
Track
The Danville girls track team won four individual events in
finishing third at the Ernie Art Invitational at Newcomerstown on April 24.
Junior Kelsey Hackman won three of those events – the
100-meter dash (12.96 seconds), the 100 hurdles (16.19) and the 300 hurdles
(47.79). Hackman also finished second in the long jump at 16-foot-0.25.
Brookelynn Carter had the other championship, winning the
shot put with a toss of 37-6. Carter also finished second in the discus at
104-11.
The 4x800 relay team of Payton Miller, Brooklyn Ashman,
Hailey Colopy and Raegan Malone came in third in a time of 12:17.15. The 4x100
team of Maycee Samples, Stella Brecheisen, Bella McGrady and Kenzi Staats came
in fourth at 57.12. Ashman also finished fourth in the 3,200 in a time of
16:38.47.
Aidan Mickley led the Blue Devils’ boys team to a
fourth-place finish. Mickley won both the 200 (23.07) and 400 (52.97), while
finishing third in the 100 (11.51) and fourth in the long jump (18-5).
Owen Gronberg came in second in the discus (142-7.5), while
Parker Proper was fourth in both the 110 hurdles (17.93) and 300 hurdles
(44.93).
