East Knox baseball, softball teams suffer tough losses
Bulldogs' baseball team drops games to Granville Christian, Northmor
The East Knox baseball team fell to Granville Christian, 6-4, on April 25.
Parker Schwartz smacked a triple to lead the Bulldogs. Zayne Grennell, Colton Armstrong and Jaxon Lester each stroked two singles.
Gavin Kidwell pitched the first three innings for EK, striking out seven. Jesse Dudgeon fanned one in 1.2 innings of work and Grennell had three Ks in 1.1 innings.
The Bulldogs then fell, 7-1, to Northmor on Tuesday.
EK managed just six hits, all singles, on the day — one each from Zayne Grennell, Caleb Armstrong, Garrett Wesney, Dakota Cooper, Jesse Dudgeon and Parker Schwartz.
Armstrong started on the hill for the Bulldogs, fanning three in 2.2 innings of work. Grennell and Dudgeon combined for the final three-plus innings with Grennell striking out one.
Softball
The East Knox softball team was no-hit by Northmor’s Maleah Blevins as the team fell, 18-0, on Tuesday.
The Bulldogs managed to get just one runner on base – Maddison Rambo, who walked in the fourth inning. Blevins struck out 15 EK batters in the five-inning game.
Rambo also pitched for EK, giving up eight hits in three innings of work. Lydia Hill finished up, fanning one.
