Centerburg bowlers open season with strong start

The Centerburg boys’ bowling team has started the season with two wins in its first three matches.

The Trojans opened the season with a close victory over Fredericktown (1,670-1,634). Michael Wallace had a 357 series to lead the Trojans (136-221), while Shawn Carter shot 347 (183-164).

Centerburg then fell to league-leading Mount Gilead (2,193-2,134). Wallace tossed a 433 (192-241) and Luke Pack shot 379 (165-214).

The Trojans bounced back on Dec. 10 by dismantling Cardington (1,646-1,498). Wallace shot 376 (199-177) to lead Centerburg.

The girls’ team has dropped three matches this season – Fredericktown. Mount Gilead and Cardington.

Azala Compton is lead the Trojans with a 115.50 average and has a high game of 158. Lynn Moody had a high game of 144.
