Bulldogs fall twice on hardwood, sweep Freddies on lanes
East Knox boys drop basketball games to Utica and Cardington-Lincoln but bounce back with boys and girls bowling victories at Fredericktown.

The East Knox boys’ basketball team dropped a pair of games
this week.
The Bulldogs were beaten by the high-flying Utica Redskins
on Dec. 30, 75-49.

The Redskins outscored EK 20-9 in the first period and went
on to the victory.
Peyton Hall led the Bulldogs with 14 points. Kyson Miller
added 12, while Mason Payne and Bruz Gibson-Hagens had six each.
Cardington-Lincoln then pulled away late to escape with a
74-68 Knox Morrow Athletic Conference victory on Jan. 3. The Pirates led 36-33
at halftime and was able to hang on for the win.
Miller led the Bulldogs with 20 points. Hall added 14, Payne
13, and both Jaxon Crawford and Rush Beatty had 10 each.
Bowling
East Knox visited Fredericktown on Jan. 5 and came away with
a pair of victories.

The Bulldog boys’ team rode a big day from Blake Calhoon to
a 1,912-1,628 victory over the Freddies.
Calhoon rolled games of 215 and 200 to pace the Bulldogs.
Shaymus Lashley shot 315 (154-161), while Braxton Lahmon shot 291 (167-124).
The girls were able to hold off the Freddies, 1,592-1,574.
Hayden Wright rolled a 203-138 (341 series) to lead the
Bulldogs. Olivia Huffman shot 287 (161-127) and Maddison Huffman 272 (140-132).
